Chairman

John founded the company over 40 years ago and under his leadership the company has steadily grown to be one of the leading architectural design practices in the north of England. John is involved in the design of schemes on a day-to-day basis, working with other members of the team to pass on his experience. John has extensive knowledge of residential layouts, conservation projects, conversions and renovations.

When workload permits John enjoys holidays in Spain with his family.

     
  Andrew Paley, BSc (Joint Hons) MSc PgDURS MRTPI
Managing Director

Andrew joined JRPA in 1998 from Local Authority employment in Kent. He is a Chartered Town Planner, and became Managing Director of JRPA in 2007.

His work includes the design, planning and presentation of major bespoke residential and mixed use schemes throughout the north of England, and the co-ordination of the range of projects at JRP. Recent projects have included the design and planning for a large conservation area scheme in Leeds and working on a number of planning appeals including expert witness appearances at Public Inquiry. He is currently involved with a variety of developments including several sites for individual dwellings, a conservation project and a large mixed use development.

Away from the office, Andrew is a keen sailor and enjoys competing both in dinghies and yachts and has represented the UK in International events.

     
  Nigel Faulkes, BA (Hons), Grad Dip Arch, RIBA
Senior Architect

Nigel has worked as a Chartered Architect since 2001. He has worked on conceptual design, detailing, design coordination and contract administration of residential, commercial buildings and public buildings. He moved from a practice in Leeds in November 2003 and became a Senior Associate in 2009. His work includes design of major bespoke schemes throughout the north of England which include mixed used developments, large conversion projects and retirement complexes. He is currently working on several large private house designs in Yorkshire.
     
  Stuart Link, BA (Hons), Grad Dip Arch, RIBA
Associate Architect

Stuart joined JRP in May 2002. His extensive list of projects include a range of residential masterplans, mixed use developments and commercial schemes. In the past 2 years he has also successfully contract managed a bespoke £1.5 million dwelling near Wetherby; gained planning consent for a £700,000 dwelling near Leeds which is currently under construction and has just gained planning consent for a contemporary dwelling near Wakefield.

In September 2010 Stuart got married on Miami Beach after a road trip across the USA.
     
  Ben Simcox, BA (Hons), Grad Dip Arch
Design Associate

Ben joined JRP in 2002 ,he has a wide variety of experience having worked on projects from small extensions to large mixed use masterplans, and concept design to detailed construction drawings. Whilst working at JRP, Ben has also obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture and is currently working toward his Part 3.

Ben's interests include football (more specifically Tottenham Hotspur), and travel having recently returned from a round the world honeymoon trip
     
  Lee Brown, BA (Hons), BLA, CMLI
Landscape Architect and Urban Designer

Lee has worked as a Chartered Landscape Architect and Urban Designer at JRP since 2003, making Landscape an integral part of the design process on all of our schemes. Lee applies his creativity to strategic masterplans and detailed proposals for landscape. He is currently working on a number of large mixed use and residential developments. Previously Lee headed a team of Landscape Architects delivering a range of regeneration projects for a national charity.

Lee’s passion is cycling, he regularly commutes by bike from home in Holmfirth and loves to spectate and compete in cycle races
     
  Laura Mepham, BA (Hons) MA MRTPI
Senior Planner

Laura joined the Company in 2004, having previously worked for four years for a residential developer dealing with land and planning. Laura has worked on numerous residential and commercial schemes and has been responsible for the development and success of community consultation events at JRP. Recent major projects include preparing tender documents for major regeneration projects in Featherstone and Southport and the production of Development Briefs / Masterplans to guide development in Barton upon Humber.

Laura’s interests include going to the gym, football and walking.
     
  Vikki Sykes, BSc (Hons) MA MRTPI
Planner

Following receipt of a degree in Environmental Management, Vikki joined the practice in 2004 and has worked her way to becoming a fully qualified chartered Town Planner. Whilst at the practice, Vikki has been responsible for the coordination and delivery of a wide range of residential schemes from individual bespoke dwellings to large mixed-use developments of 1200 dwellings plus. Major projects include regeneration in South Leeds and the implemetation of Masterplans in Scunthorpe and Peterborough.

Interests include walking, reading and scuba diving.
     
  Kieran Mapplebeck, ACIAT, BSc. (Hons). Architectural Technology
Technician and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor

Kieran joined JRP in August 2005 and after initially fulfilling the role of illustrator, adopted the role of architectural technician to coincide with undertaking a part time degree in Architectural Technology. Kieran trained for and qualified as a Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor in March 2007 and in 2009 gained First Class Honours in Architectural Technology, was presented with the HLM Architects Best Sustainable Design Award (for BSc Hons Architectural Technology) and was commended in the 2009 CIAT Student Awards for Technical Excellence.
     
  Rich Nicholls, HND Construction
Technician

Rich joined JRP at the age of 18 in June 2004 as an office Junior having completed a National Diploma in Construction. He has continued his studies whilst working at JRPA and is one of the longest serving members of the Technical team. His roles include producing planning, working & site layout drawings with the emphasis on the technical aspect of our projects.
     
  Stephen Nixon, BSc. (Hons). Architectural Technology
Technician

Stephen joined JRP in November 2007. Before joining JRP Stephen worked on large distribution and commercial developments around England for one of the UK's largest supermarkets. At JRP Stephen is part of an experienced team that produce housetype designs, planning and working drawings for numerous small and large residential developments around the north of England.

Stephen's interests include rock climbing, both indoor and outdoor and mountain biking.
     
  Emma Wynne
Accounts

Emma plays a key role in running the accounts department of the company.
     
  Ian Harrison, BA. (Hons) GC, BA. (Hons) MED
Graphic Illustrator

Ian joined the company in 2006 and has qualifications in Graphic Communications and Exhibition Design. His role involves presentation and illustration and uses PhotoShop, InDesign and SketchUp to create 2D and 3D images. Ian also designed this website.

"I've had an interest in Graphic Design since being very young and can remember being 10 years old and using Deluxe Paint on the Amiga 500 to make animations ... "
     
 

Diane Burke, BA. (Hons) Interior Design
Administrator

 

Diane is our newest administrator only joining the company in 2011. Her role involves all administration and also includes supporting our Designers, Planners and Graphic Illustrator.

 

"Having achieved a successful career in the airline industry, I had a long term ambition to work within design and after only graduating a few years ago. I am very pleased to be working within a design environment."

     
 

Ben The Dog
Motivational Guru

Ben joined the company in 2002 and has developed into a key member of the team. His duties include welcoming visitors, providing emotional support and accompanying staff on site visits.
